Lipstick artist, Ricollin Moodley, has captivated a devoted audience with his unique art, using cosmetic products to craft beautiful portraits. The 24-year old’s popularity soared even further last year when his lipstick portraits of some of the Springbok rugby players gained significant attention across his social media platforms, which led to him meeting Siya Kolisi, Faf de Klerk and Vincent Koch.
Given his talent and creative flair, Moodley was selected to be one of the influencers behind new SUV brand, Jetour, with the Jetour Dashing becoming a game-changer for this self-taught artist based in KwaZulu Natal.
“Before I had it, I relied on public transportation to travel to places where I needed to bring my art, but often, I couldn’t get to where I needed to be. Now, my Jetour has given me the freedom to take my art wherever I go, while comfortably accommodating both my creative needs and my family,” Moodley says.
“My experience with the Jetour has been incredibly exciting. Beyond the advanced tech features, the car’s unique and bold design always attracts attention, with people constantly complimenting its striking looks. It has made traveling a breeze whenever I need to be somewhere,” he says.
For Moodley, the past year has been full of inspiring moments, with his Jetour Dashing making it possible for him to experience these in person. These include meeting UFC Middleweight Champion, Dricus Du Plessis, for the first time as well as meeting some of the Springboks and attending his first live rugby game at Kings Park. Moodley also took his family to the SA20 Cricket, hosted by SuperSport, where they also experienced a live cricket game for the first time. As a Sunglass Hut ambassador, Moodley now also drives into Durban every month to pick up his new sunglasses. He is also able to participate in more live in-studio radio interviews, a trend that seems to be growing as his talent and artwork gain more recognition.
“When I need to do live paintings, the Jetour has ample space for my art supplies—easel, canvases, lipsticks—and even fits my entire family (mom, dad, brother, and sister) comfortably. The generous legroom is especially appreciated by my mom, who isn’t in the best health, making her ride more comfortable”.
As someone who always carries his art, Moodley says that the keyless entry and automatic tailgate make it incredibly convenient to access the car and the boot, without having to fumble for his keys.
“I also love the car’s sensors, which provide great awareness of my surroundings. The sunroof is a nice touch, especially when the weather is hot—it helps keep me cool while showing off my unique hairstyle!”.
Since Moodley lives in an area with gravel roads, the Jetour’s impressive ground clearance is a huge bonus. The sport mode is Moodley’s favorite, enabling a smooth, powerful ride whenever he’s heading on the highway or heading to his next exhibition or appearance.
“The wireless charging, live GPS, and Android Auto make my life so much easier, and my favorite feature has to be the voice control—it’s a game-changer for hands-free convenience while driving”.
The 5-seater Jetour Dashing brings affordable luxury to South African consumers, priced very competitively, starting with the Momentum model at R439 900 and the Deluxe model at R469 900.
